—-I was originally from the Philippines,I came to US in the year of 2001,stayed there for 6 years, went back to Manila and stayed for one and a half year then we came here in Canada. My family still lives there and I miss it terribly specially now that it’s too darn cold in here. Today, I decided to list thirteen things about The Philippines.

- We call ourselves Filipino.
- Tagalog is our official language, second is english.
- It’s a tropical country,we only have two kinds of weather, hot & hotter.

- Rice is a regular part of our meals,we ate it at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is our second woman president, next to Corazon Aquino, they have one thing in common, they became president thru People Power.
- Divorced is not allowed in the Philippines.
- Manila is the capital city.
- There is a 12-hrs differences from where am at.
- We pray in school, regardless of the difference in religion.

Mabuhay! I have enjoyed several wonderful trips to the Philippines. Lovely people, though I have to say I do not approve of 11 at all.

I spent a couple of sun-filled months in the Philippines. Will have to go back one day, but I can do without #11, too.

I really enjoyed learning something about your culture. I think it is great you can pray in schools not matter what your religion is.

LOL, #11 is catching all our attention. I’m glad all the Filipinos I know are much more of the gentle and kind type. I love Filipino food. I was introduced to Simbang Gabi several years ago and I really enjoy this religious tradition.

Once I visited the Philippines. I was impressed by the friendness of her people and the beauty of her land. I’d like to go back there someday.

Thanks for stopping by Miller Manor, and for the interesting list. We have never been to the Philippines, but lived for a couple of years in the Marshall Islands– where the temperatures are just hot–not so much hotter! Great list!

Thanks for the mini-introduction to the Philippines! I can sympathize with your weather woes, even though the difference between south Texas and Germany isn’t quite as great as between the Philippines and Canada. Brrr.

I would love to visit there some day
Happy TT and thank you for stopping by!

Thank you for sharing this! I know so little about the Phillipines – it’s quite embarrassing.

Thank you for visiting our TT – it must have been hard to put together a short list of facts from the country you love so much. I hope you enjoy your new home – moving is hard enough – much less to a new country and culture.

Very interesting. One of my favorite things about blogging is what I have learned about other countries and cultures.

Hi! Thank you for teaching me about your homeland.
Thank you for your very kind words at my blog, too.

I always enjoy learning about different countries, especially from natives of those countries! I am always amazed at how much technology has and has not changed our world. When my husband went to India and when we both went to Ethiopia, the number of cell phones was amazing to me (especially since we haven’t had one too long ourselves).
I hope things go well for y’all in Canada! Thanks for the visit!

I’ve never been to the Philippines, but I’ve had the great pleasure of working with several Canadians who were born there. I love your description of the weather there – hot and hotter! LOL!! Perhaps it makes Canada’s cold weather romantic, somehow…?

My family sponsors a few children and we’ve had a few from the Philippines. I love learning about new places! Thanks for stopping by, come again!
