—– Last week, I already started distributing my resume and I feel awkward doing it,honestly, I didn’t know how hard it was to find a job until lately. Well, my first job was courtesy of my aunt, she recommended me and I get in without any problem eventhough I was a fresh graduate from high school, my second was also a recommendation from a friend, then the third, It was an offer I can’t refused, so I was “pirated” from my second company to the third. See, job hunting is so new to me and after being SAHM (Stay-At-Home-Mom) It feels very strange going out there applying and hoping to get hired. Now, I opted to submit my resume online instead, because I find it more comfortable, I’ll just wait for the call (If I am lucky enough!!!). And in case you are wondering why I am looking for a job now, well, my youngest son will be attending Junior Kinder this fall and now I feel like there’s nothing else for me to do at home during their school hours and with the economy crisis going on right now, it’s better to have two income at home rather than one, because you don’t know when your partner will tell you “I lost my job”, and I’m telling you people, this recession is affecting us personally, my brother-in-law who works in a company for more than 15 years got laid-off, and to think that my father-in-law also work there and his father too, then a family friend is so close to lost their house because of foreclosure, he lost his job last year and file a retirement, they rely mainly from his SS pension which obviously is not enough. I’m already thinking of filing for an unemployment benefit from the government because as I see it, it’s the only office right now that have money, well, at least I hope they do have money, i think. . .

I have actually stayed in the work force through staying at home. I have a retail job in which I work 3 hours or so a week. It is a chance to stay in the work field and a chance to get away and be with other adults! Good luck out there. With the difficult economic times not many companies are hiring but there are certainly some that are. Hang in there!
